Guest Speakers (in alphabetical order)

Dr. Jesus P. ESTANISLAO is currently the Chairman of the Institute of Corporate Directors (with focus on corporate governance) and Chairman/CEO of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (with focus on public governance). He holds

the title of University Professor at the University of Asia and the Pacific. Dr. Estanislao has spent much of his career founding or rehabilitating institutions. He was the founding Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo (1998). He also served as the founding President (1992-1997) of the University of Asia and the Pacific, which grew out of the Center for Research and Communication, of which he was the founding Executive Director (1969-1981). Dr. Estanislao holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, where he was also a Teaching Fellow and Research Fellow. He obtained his MA in Economics from Fordham University, and his AB in Economics and Ph.B. (summa cum laude) from the University of San Carlos.


Prof. Yih-teen LEE is assistant professor in the Department of Managing People in Organizations. He earned his Ph.D. at HEC, University of Lausanne, where he also participated in a research project as postdoctoral research fellow. Before

joining IESE, he taught at HEC University of Lausanne (Switzerland), Angers Graduate School of Business ESSCA (France), Wright State University (Ohio, US), the American Graduate School of International Management Thunderbird Europe (France) and Lung-Hua University of Science and Technology (Taiwan, R.O.C.). One of Prof. Lee's recent papers on culture and the person-environment fit, titled "Satisfaction and Individual Preference for Structuring: What is Fit Depends on Where You Are From," won the Best International Paper Award of the Organizational Behavior Division at the 2006 Academy of Management Annual Meeting, and was one of the three finalists of the academy-wide Carolyn Dexter Award. Prof. Lee is co-editor of the forthcoming book Les compétences culturelles(Cultural Skills), and is participating in several research projects focusing on this topic. He is now co-editing another book on the cultural contexts of human resource development. In addition to ethnic cross-cultural comparative studies, he is also passionate about developing endemic cultural knowledge of the Chinese business context.


Mr. Richard S. ROQUE is Managing Director, of SA Capital Limited, Hong Kong a private impact investment company focused on social ventures. He currently remains as a Chairman Emeritus of Hong Kong Venture Capital Association. He is actively

involved in education thru several organizations: (a) he is an Executive Director of Prim Group (HK) Limited, which is a training website in Greater China (www.sinaworld.cn) focused on entrepreneurial leadership, social entrepreneurship and corporate stakeholder responsibility; and (b) he is a director of East Asian Educational Association, a Hong Kong charity which is the sponsoring body of 3 schools in Hong Kong. In addition, he is an adviser to the Hong Kong Council of Social Services, a full member of the Hong Kong Securities Institute, a Director of Monte Jade Science & Technology Associate (HK) and a Fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors. Mr. Roque has a BSc in Industrial Management Engineering from the De La Salle University, Manila; an MSc in Industrial Economics from the Centre for Research & Communication; a Global Executive MBA from IESE, Barcelona and has taken the Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford University.
